About us:
This initiative started in November 2006 when about 30 people from around mid-Missouri gathered at Kevin's World on 10th Street in Columbia for a community conversation.
The theme was global warming and what if anything we should do about it.
People introduced themselves, enjoyed some refreshments and formed three groups to probe some questions put in front of them by the facilitators.
We concluded with a report back and wrap-up - and most of us wanted to continue learning, exchanging ideas and more than anything, we wanted to do something.
The essence of that first meeting was captured in a Newsletter put together by Nick Peckham. There have been other meetings since then - with around 90 people involved. Some individual and group actions are underway. We started this site to sustain the learning, dialogue and actions that we engage in going forward. Blame Jake Halliday for the name and the web design.
We hope to introduce a bulletin board feature to facilitate our dialogue and allow others around the country and around the world to connect with us.
